Sri Lanka's 345-run target for Pakistan: 'Pakistan have not successfully chased a target of more than 260 runs in the World Cup till date

In the eighth match of World Cup 2023, today Sri Lanka has given Pakistan a target of 345 runs to win.


 In the match played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad today, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. After Hasan Ali took the wicket at the beginning, it seemed that Pakistan could stop Sri Lanka at a low total.  will be successful.  However, then Kusal Mendes' catch of Shaheen Afridi's ball fell short of Imam-ul-Haq and then the misfortune of Pakistani bowlers began.


 Kosal Mendis played a brilliant game and scored 122 runs off 77 balls hitting six sixes and 14 fours and overwhelmed the Pakistani bowlers.  Due to their aggressive style, neither the Pakistani captain could set a field nor the Pakistani bowlers understood what line to keep.


 Sri Lanka scored 102 runs between 20 and 30 overs, and at one point it looked like the target would be close to 400, but Pakistan's fast bowlers showed better bowling in the last 20 overs and took wickets one after the other.  Due to this, Sri Lanka could be restricted to 3 my44 runs.Sri Lankan player Samara Wickrama also crossed the century and scored 108 runs off 89 balls.  His innings included two sixes and 11 fours and he was eventually caught out by Mohammad Rizwan off Hasan Ali.


 Hasan Ali took four wickets for Pakistan, he dismissed Kosal Mendes for 122, Kosal Perera for zero and Charith Asalanka for one run while Samara Wickrama was dismissed for 108 runs.


 By the 30th over of the match, Sri Lanka could score 229 runs while four of its players were out.  PCB made a change in the national team today, replacing opener Fakhar Zaman with Abdullah Shafiq in the team.It should be noted that this is the second match between the two teams in this event. In this event, Pakistan defeated Netherlands by 81 runs in their first match, while Sri Lanka was defeated by South African

 During the first innings of Pakistan's social media, cricket fans started expressing their grief through posts on Sri Lanka's giving a big target to the Pakistani cricket team.  Many users were very critical of Pakistan's fielding.


 Describing Pakistan's bowling as weak compared to Sri Lanka's best batting, many passionate fans did not hesitate to compare the economic situation instead of cricket.


 A user named Ali Sethi wrote that "Pakistan seems to have equaled Sri Lanka only in economic conditions."  It will take a lot of time for equality in cricket."This is a batting pitch now, when it's our turn it will become a bowling pitch," wrote one user regarding Sri Lanka's good performance.


 A user reminded that Pakistan have never successfully chased down a target of more than 260 runs in the history of the World Cup till date.
