Thousands killed in Afghanistan earthquake: 'All houses collapsed in the first shock'
According to the official figures of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, the death toll from Saturday's earthquake in Herat province has exceeded 2,050.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on X that a total of 2,053 people were killed in 13 villages in Herat, according to figures from the Ministry of Natural Disaster Management.
